I live in the US but I would also like to know some of the disadvantages, advantages, costs and crime rates in the Dominican Republic?

If you will just read carefully Eredic, Brody Jenkins has the same inquiry as yourself and what most of us here in the forum have. Please do read carefully previous posts so that you don't make a fool out of yourself.Why isn't there any Dominican here? Hasn't the internet reach their country yet?

Claire, why are you so blunt to Eredic...to me he does not sound foolish but an eager blogger too! But of course he should have read the former's post unless of course they have their own history. I read somewhere that a person can live by between $1800-$2000 per month in the DR but this could be cheaper if you own a house. You could run an online search for the cost of living in DR and I am sure you will get useful information. Take initiative brother!

If I read the initial post right, this has to do with someone from Venezuela that has been to the Dominican Republic before and who was keen enough to make a comparison. As I have said before, life is a relative concept and different things appeal to us in divergent ways. For one, DR is said to have annoying beach sellers. It is ranked as the seventh out the best eleven Caribbean destinations.
