I suggest that you choose Margarita Island. Last summer on my vacation, I've met a lovely couple here from my country. They're also retirees, jumping from one place to another every six months. They say that this place is the nicest place they've ever been to so far.

retiring anywhere would be nice. But if you want to retire to Venezuela just get on the internet and look up places for retired people. I am sure they have housing in a nice place and I am sure the apartments are nice as well.

How good are the best places to retire lists?

Choosing the best place to retire should be about who you are and what you are looking for - rather than someone else's list. Nevertheless, some communities are more desirable than others. These lists can be useful as a starting point to help you identify places you might want to visit in your search process. Here is how we recommend using this best places to retire list:

For the list please refer on the link below.

I have been hearing a lot of good things about Margarita island lately, just like Dave suggested. I would definitely look into that.

Introducing Venezuela

While other South American countries are romanticized for the tango, Machu Picchu or Carnaval, Venezuela’s international reputation swirls around oil, the brash political style of President Hugo Chávez and the occasional international beauty pageant winner. However, there is so much more to Venezuela than these typical headlining issues. As a matter of fact, Venezuela is a country of staggering variety and remains a land that is greatly undervisited by international travelers.

Why retire in Margarita Island:

The weather is great and predicable, between 78-85 and a nice breeze at all times. The pace is slow. There is only one large town over 100, 000 population.

There are numerous small towns(of 2-10, 000 people), very little crime, inexpensive medical care and the cost of living is easily under $1, 000 per month including rent. You are never more than 10 minutes from a beach or 20 minutes from the largest city of Porlamar where the nightlife goes til 2 or 3am or until whenever.

I do think a retirement destination ought to purely be a matter of choice. Remember home is where the heart is and not necessarily what most people seem to be flowing with.

Again, retirement requirements are unique to different people so I would suggest you follow that from your own country. Margarita island seems to be a choice for many people could be because of the tremendous climate and good living.

Venezuela is certainly just an awesome location regarding retirement, without a doubt. I can hardly think of very many other places that I would consider.

Comment #17 Derex (63.176.159.228) - 02/01/10 21:05

Yeah, I would also suggest Venezuela for those who would be retiring soon. Even though the place is not that secure nowadays, because of some political issues there, still the country manages to attract more and more tourists and of course retirees.

With all of those must see and must try in this country, I must say that Venezuela is one of the great country to consider. Good day people.
