| captain united states army retiredi am beginning to like the political direction president chavez is going , especially health care and political preference. i am quite comfortable with my military retirement and social security here and medical also a social based programs. i am 66 quite well educated and looking for a tropical climate with social programs that take care of basic needs . i do not know if i would have to give up my social earned military pay and civilian social security. or citizenship. im healthy. keeping my us earned retirement pay would of course support me there. i realize the 2 countries differences and how the us is leaning towards more social programs which i approve . i lived my adult life in the military which is a socialist program in essence and medician . now i draw social security and military retired pay.i have no gripes with socialism having lived uner those programs. my christian religious convictions are also important to me. if i lived there as an expat i dont know how to draw from my banking here. i believe a mixture of free enterprise and socialism is best and where the us is going especially considering the many social programs we already have.what would be the political repercussions of a us military officer living there . what is the cost of living for a modest apartment and other expenses including medical? |
